Deborah Benoit has been carving since 1995 and studied under gunstock carver Bill Janney and calligrapher and glass engraver Ken Brown. She owns Deb's Specialty Shop in Port Arthur, Texas, and offers classes at her studio. Deb's work has been shown nationwide. |

John Gallagher was born in Midland, Texas, and is now a resident of Jasper, Alabama. He is the owner of Gallagher Firearms, Inc., and manager of The Sportsman's Center, Inc., a full-line retail sporting goods store located in Jasper. John attended Trinidad State Junior College from 1991-1994. John specializes in custom Ruger handguns and Ultra light hunting rifles. His work has been featured in Petersen's Hunting, Shooting Times, Guns & Ammo, Handloader, and The American Rifleman. |

Jess Gibson is a former Firearms Coordinator and Range Master for the Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy in Golden, Colorado. He has over 20 years experience as an armorer. |

Keith Gipson has been a full-time gunsmithing instructor at TSJC since 1987 and is currently the Director of Gunsmithing Activities. Keith is an experienced machinist and gunsmith who specializes in gun repair, metalworking, and CNC programming. |

Gene Graham has
been in the metal working trades for the past 50 years and is retired
from the Dept. of Defense as a Metal Trades Foreman at the Naval Air
Force Facility in China Lake, CA. He has two machinist
apprenticeships and an Associate Degree in Industrial Arts. For
the past 12 years he has held the position of Associate Professor,
Machine Tool Technology at Cerro
Coso Community College in Ridgecrest, CA. |

Frank Hendricks apprenticed in Germany and has been a full-time gun engraver since 1962. He is the founding President of the Firearms Engraver's Guild of America and is the recipient of many awards for engraving excellence. |

Cliff La Bounty has been a full time gunsmith for 23 years, specializing in reboring and re-rifling and the blueprinting of bolt-action rifle receivers. His line of gunsmithing tools are designed to speed up the blueprinting process as well as achieve the desired tolerances are well known throughout the industry. Cliff was an Industrial Arts teacher in Seattle and Mukilteo, WA for 13 years and left teaching to work in machine shops as a millwright prior to setting up his own successful reboring business, LaBounty Precision Reboring. He has built several rifling machines and consulted to businesses starting in the barrel making business. |

Derrick
Martin served in the Marine Corps where he entered into
competitive shooting. After his military service, he enrolled in
the TSJC Gunsmithing program, graduating in 1980. He worked in
retail gunsmithing in stores in both Arizona and Nevada. he
remains an active competitor and has served with the Arizona
National Guard Rifle Team. he has received numerous awards
in the competitive shooting field, including the Distinguished
Rifleman, the President's 100 Shooter and the NRA
Hi-Master, among others. he developed the National
Guard's M-16 Match Rifle program. Derrick currently
operates his own full time gunsmithing business "Accuracy
Speaks" and produces custom accurized firearms parts.

Dave Nolan is a full-time TSJC Gunsmithing instructor with over ten years experience in stockmaking. His experience includes work with both wood and synthetic stock as well as gun repair, barrel work, custom metal work, bluing and custom firearm building. |

Andy Priest was
a commercial ammunition manufacturer who apprenticed and became a
gunsmith at
Lone
Star Guns in Plano, TX for several years. He specialized in Law
Enforcement warranty repairs for Smith
& Wesson, Colt,
Mossberg, Remington,
Howa and Weatherby.

Gordon Robertson has worked as a draftsman, machine designer and shop manager. He is a 1993 graduate of the TSJC Gunsmithing Program. Gordon has remained in the Trinidad area, continuing his education in computer usage and art. He has learned advanced CNC and CAD programming. This training and experience allowed him to design a versatile gunstock-inletting machine that can also be used for 3D artwork. He is self taught is wax injection molding design and manufacturing and has studied bronze casting techniques. |

Mark Stratton earned his degree in Gunsmithing from TSJC in 1971. Besides building custom rifles, he worked in the electronics industry as a model maker for 28 years. Mark is a member of the American Custom Gunmaker Guild and is Associate Editor of the guild's publication, GUNMAKER, his specialty being metalsmithing, tooling, jigs and fixtures. James Stroh
has been a full time gunsmith since
1981, an amateur part time 'smith for the previous twenty years.
His specialty is handguns: 1911s, Ruger & Colt single
actions, and Ruger & Smith & Wesson double actions. He
does caliber conversions on the Ruger single actions, producing custom
five and six shot cylinders. Stroh graduated 1960 with a B.
S. in chemistry and worked as an industrial chemist until 1981. Students

Robert Sully was born in Ft. Jay, New York, grew up in Brooklyn and attended Aviation Trades High School in New York City. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1955 where he became an illustrator. After leaving the Air Force, he worked as a Technical Illustrator. Robert was awarded a scholarship through the National Rifle Association and attended classes in engraving taught by Frank Hendricks and Advanced Engraving, taught by John Barraclough. He was honored with Professional Standing at the Firearms Engravers Guild of America convention of 1998. Robert now lives in Albuquerque, NM where he engraves Western Style firearms and restores lettering. He has developed a method of restoring lettering using a computer and an electro chemical process. |

Harold Thomason came to TSJC directly from the U.S. Army where he had served in the Marksmanship Unit for twenty-eight years; four years as a competitive high power rifle shooter, and twenty-four years as the shooting team's armorer. Thomason holds the distinguished Marksman Rifle Badge and has attended factory schools in the United States and Europe. He is an experienced gunsmith, served as a TSJC gunsmithing instructor for 20 years, and is currently TSJC/NRA Programs Director. |
