John Barraclough is a retired interior designer with a background in design techniques. He is a Life Member of the NRA and is a past director of the Firearms Engraver's Guild of America.

Deborah Benoit has been carving since 1995 and studied under gunstock carver Bill Janney and calligrapher and glass engraver Ken Brown.  She owns Deb's Specialty Shop in Port Arthur, Texas, and offers classes at her studio.  Deb's work has been shown nationwide.

Leonard Bull is a retired TSJC gunsmithing instructor and former gunsmith in the London gun trade.  He worked for 13 years as a Master Gunsmith for Shaw & Hunter in Nairobi, Kenya.

John Gallagher was born in Midland, Texas, and is now a resident of Jasper, Alabama.  He is the owner of Gallagher Firearms, Inc., and manager of  The Sportsman's Center, Inc., a full-line retail sporting goods store located in Jasper.  John attended Trinidad State Junior College from 1991-1994.  John specializes in custom Ruger handguns and Ultra light hunting rifles.  His work has been featured in Petersen's Hunting, Shooting Times, Guns & Ammo, Handloader, and The American Rifleman.

Jess Gibson is a former Firearms Coordinator and Range Master for the Colorado Law Enforcement Training Academy in Golden, Colorado.  He has over 20 years experience as an armorer.

Keith Gipson has been a full-time gunsmithing instructor at TSJC since 1987 and is currently the Director of Gunsmithing Activities.  Keith is an experienced machinist and gunsmith who specializes in gun repair, metalworking, and CNC programming.

Gene Graham has been in the metal working trades for the past 50 years and is retired from the Dept. of Defense as a Metal Trades Foreman at the Naval Air Force Facility in China Lake, CA.  He has two machinist apprenticeships and an Associate Degree in Industrial Arts.  For the past 12 years he has held the position of Associate Professor, Machine Tool Technology at Cerro Coso Community College in Ridgecrest, CA.

Frank Hendricks apprenticed in Germany and has been a full-time gun engraver since 1962.  He is the founding President of the Firearms Engraver's Guild of America and is the recipient of many awards for engraving excellence.

Cliff LaBounty has been a full time gunsmith for 23 years, specializing in reboring and re-rifling and the blueprinting of bolt-action rifle receivers.  His line of gunsmithing tools are designed to speed up the blueprinting process as well as achieve the desired tolerances are well known throughout the industry.  Cliff was an Industrial Arts teacher in Seattle and Mukilteo, WA for 13 years and left teaching to work in machine shops as a millwright prior to setting up his own successful reboring business, LaBounty Precision Reboring.  He has built several rifling machines and consulted to businesses starting in the barrel making business.

Derrick Martin  Derrick Martin's lifelong interest in firearms led him to enlist in the marine corps at 17 where he first entered into competitive shooting. Upon discharge, he enrolled in the Trinidad Jr. College Gunsmithing program and graduated in 1980. He spent the next ten years in retail gunsmithing, working for Safari Arms, Smith Enterprises, & retail gun stores both in Arizona & Nevada.  During that time, he was an active NRA hi- power rifle competitor with the Arizona National Guard Rifle Team & The All National Guard Rifle Team. He became a Distinguished Rifleman in 1987, a Presidents 100 Shooter in 1988 an NRA Hi- Master in 1992, a National Guard Chief's Fifty Shooter in 1995, and became a Distinguished Pistol Shot in 1996.  He has been a continuous member of the All National Guard Rifle Team since 1988, and has been on winning teams at The National Guard Wilson Matches All-Army, Inter service at Camp Perry as well as the Australian & British Skill At Arms Matches. In 1993 he developed The National Guard's M-16 Match Rifle Program and has been a leading national proponent of the M-16 both as a service rifle & NRA match rifle.  Accuracy Speaks was founded in 1989 and has been a mainstay in the shooting sports both regionally and nationally since then. We have built and modified firearms for national and world champions.

Dave Nolan is a full-time TSJC Gunsmithing instructor with over ten years experience in stockmaking.  His experience includes work with both wood and synthetic stock as well as gun repair, barrel work, custom metal work, blueing and custom firearm building.

Gordon Robertson  After high school, Gordon attended several Air Force tech schools to become and electrical power production technician.  He was then assigned to an Atlas F missile combat crew and was required to perform operation and maintenance procedures on power generating equipment and numerous related systems.  After leaving the service he became a draftsman, working his way to machine designer, shop manager and eventually self-employment due to a total hearing loss in 1988.  Shortly thereafter, he attended TSJC Gunsmithing School, obtaining his AAS in 1993.  He remained in the area after graduation, continuing his education in gunsmithing as well as computers and art.  Due to a desire to manufacture rifle actions and related parts, he has learned advanced CNC and CAD programming & designed a gunstock inletting machine capable of producing right and left hand copies from a single pattern and can be used as a 3D copy machine for other artwork.  Lack of available schools related to wax injection molding necessitated becoming self taught in wax injection mold design manufacturing as well and wax injection molding.  Past engineering experiences as well as bronze casting classes at TSJC have greatly aided his accomplishment.

Mark Stratton earned his degree in Gunsmithing from TSJC in 1971.  Besides building custom rifles, he worked in the electronics industry as a model maker for 28 years.  Mark is a member of the American Custom Gunmaker Guild and is Associate Editor of the guild's publication, GUNMAKER, his specialty being metalsmithing, tooling, jigs and fixtures.  Today Mark works full-time building custom rifles at his shop in Mukilteo, Washington.  Students are welcome to visit his website at http://www.gunmaker.net/.

James Stroh  has been a full time gunsmith since 1981, an amateur part time 'smith for the previous twenty years.  His specialty is handguns:  1911s, Ruger & Colt single actions, and Ruger & Smith & Wesson double actions.  He does caliber conversions on the Ruger single actions, producing custom five and six shot cylinders.  Stroh graduated 1960 with a B. S. in chemistry and worked as an industrial chemist until 1981.  Students are welcome to visit his website and message board at Alpha Precision, Inc. 

Robert Sully  was born in Ft. Jay, New York, grew up in Brooklyn and attended Aviation Trades High School in New York City.  He enlisted in the Air Force in 1955 where he became an illustrator.  After leaving the Air Force, he worked as a Technical Illustrator.  Robert was awarded a scholarship through the National Rifle Association and attended classes in engraving taught by Frank Hendricks and Advanced Engraving, taught by John Barraclough.  He was honored with Professional Standing at the Firearms Engravers Guild of America convention of 1998.  Robert now lives in Albuquerque, NM where he engraves Western Style firearms and restores lettering.  He has developed a method of restoring lettering using a computer and an electro chemical process.

Andy Priest was a commercial ammunition manufacturer who apprenticed and became a gunsmith at  Lone Star Rifle in Texas for several years. He specialized in Law Enforcement warranty repairs for Smith & Wesson, Colt, Mossberg, Remington, Howa and Weatherby.  

Harold Thomason came to TSJC directly from the U.S. Army where he had served in the Marksmanship Unit for twenty-eight years; four years as a competitive high power rifle shooter, and twenty-four years as the shooting team's armorer.  Thomason holds the distinguished Marksman Rifle Badge and has attended factory schools in the United States and Europe.  He is an experienced gunsmith, served as a TSJC gunsmithing instructor for 20 years, and is currently TSJC/NRA Programs Director.

Wesley Washburn instructs Machine Technology at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, working specifically in precision techniques on the mill and lathe.
